DOCENT PROGRAM Docents at Point Lobos State Reserve volunteer a minimum of six hours per month of public contact service. There are over 150 Point Lobos docents, many of whom have been in the program for over 10 years. Answering visitors' questions at the Information Station, Docents are required to attend monthly training sessions to keep current and expand their knowledge. These meetings are held the first Saturday of each month. New docents are given a self-paced qualification training programs and are assigned to a mentor veteran to guide them.
